The trust was formed from the surplus money of All India Ophthalmological Society conference in 1975. The members of the trust are Principals of three medical colleges, Director Medical Education Assam, Health Secretary Govt. of Assam, President and Secretary AAOS and  Prof.  Late Dr  L. C. Dutta.  The  main  objective of the trust is to  promote Ophthalmic Education and Research in the State. Every year one Guest Speaker for the Annual Conference is sponsored by the trust.

This  Association is affiliated to All India Ophthalmological Society.
